privacy policy

Personal identification information will collect personal identification information from users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. When leaving a comment, users are asked for their (first) name and an email address. Also, users can subscribe to this site with their emails or through WordPress in order to be alerted to new posts. Email addresses or other contact information may also be used to respond to inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. Users may, however, visit our site anonymously.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site, in order to be able to understand how people use the site and improve the user experience (this is done through the Jetpack plug-in, read more about their use of data here.) Non-personal identification information may include the time spent on the site, pages visited, pages/links the users were referred from, and other similar information.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service, Akismet (read more about their use of data here).
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Our site may use “cookies” to enhance user experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. For example, if you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent users’ personal identification information to others. We may use third party service providers to help us operate the site or administer activities on our behalf, for example subscriptions. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes only.
